The process of granting credentials and personalizing secure documents to individuals and groups based on authentication and authorization. The most common practice is in the issuance of identification documents and passports.

  • RFID and NFC Technologies
Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is the wireless use of electromagnetic fields to transfer data, for the purposes of automatically identifying and tracking of persons and objects. The tags contain electronically stored information. RFID are most commonly used in contact and contacless smartcards, proximity cards and electronic passports.

  • Near field communication (NFC) is a set of ideas and technology that enables smartphones and other devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching the devices together or bringing them into proximity. NFC are mostly used in smartphones and for payment such as Apple Pay and Google Wallet.

  • AIDC refers to the methods of automatically identifying objects, collecting data about them, and entering that data directly into automated systems. 
  • OCR is the digital conversion of images of typed, handwritten or printed documents into machine-encoded text. The technology is widely used for Passports, Driver's License  and electronic IDs.
